Even though there are cameras out their with bigger sensors and are able to shoot with higher ISOs, this is still a great, little camera. I love it because it shoots numerous ratios, has a lovely, sharp, zoom lens that shoots 24mm wide, (where most are 28mm), and it's small enough to fit in my bag. It also shoots macro, so it does a little bit of everything. I haven't found a compact that can beat it, that also has a 24mm wide lens. Most are at 28mm, and sometimes I like the wider lens. If I didn't already own this camera, I would check out the Sony RX100, the Fuji X20, and similar cameras due to their larger sensor sizes. But being that I already own it, and it has that 24mm lens, I'm keeping it. It's a classic. The Leica D-Lux 5, which everyone raved about at first, sin't as nice. They've changed something in that camera which makes it seem like it can shoot at higher ISOs, but the camera really was just altered. Do a Google search on the reviews. Many of the people in Flick have complained and wish they never sold their D-Lux 4 cameras. I just smile, because I still have mine. It's funny how everyone raved about this camera and the Panasonic version, but everyone dumps it and chases the next best thing. Only the next thing isn't quite the "best" like they state. It's just a marketing gimmick to keep chasing pixels. I do chase the pixels, as I prefer the APS-C sensor most. But I can't give up this camera. It does a lot of things just right.
|Be prepared for yet many more pictures of Ozzy. The Leica and Ozzy get along so well. I can do macro with it, and get wide angle shots of his big dome. This makes me very happy indeed.|
|Try this with the other compacts. LOL!|

I guess you figured out that the answer is "yes" to the question about Leica D-Lux 4 still being a good camera. LOL!
