Using a Leica Lens on a Sony NEX 5

I have been trying out my Leica Summicron 35mm 2.0 ASPH lens on my Sony NEX 5 lately. I like the peak focusing to help the manual focus on the lens. I shot these two pictures indoors in low light, hence the high ISO of 1600 and 3200 respectively.

Let me know what you think of these shots. Anyone else using a Leica lens on a Non-Leica body? I'm curious.

  1. Hi, ZenGirlie.. it's nice to " meet " users of Leica lenses on anything other than Leica bodies. I use my Summilux 50 ASPH, Elmarit 21 ASPH and Elmar 135/4 on NEX-5n with very satisfactory results, engaging a Novoflex adaptor. I also fit on NEX, a Leitz Apo Telyt-R 180/3.4 utilising a Novoflex Nikon to NEX adapter, since I had already converted this lens' mount to fit my Nikon D800!

    1. Hi Argy,

Nice gear you have there. I wish I had a novoflex adapter. i have a cheap Rainbow one. I have the older NEX 5. I am looking to sell my Leica 35 cron though as I sold my Leica M6 and only use this on the Sony rarely. It's just that I would prefer to get the cash and spend on other things. Love the Leica glass though. If money were no object, I'd keep it.
