Leica D-Lux 4: The Daily Shoot

I'm still dabbling with The Daily Shoot. I usually use the Leica D-Lux 4 because it's quick & handy for this sort of project. I'm not sure how long I'll keep doing this project, but here are two more pictures from the assignments given from the Daily Shoot Website.

  1. Someone spilled a i/2 cup of water on my d'Lux3. I put it in dry rice for 2 days and then tried some methyl hydrate on the switch. But when I turn on the power switch nothing happens in any mode. Are these wonderful cameras salvageable? Got any ideas? Know anybody who knows ? I'm desperate without my d'Lux-3.

  2. I would send it back to Leica or ask someone who repairs cameras what the cost would be. Have you tried using it? It may still work and give some off results. Check out this guy who dropped his NIkon 990 in water, dried it out, but still used it. He is famous:

If it is expensive to fix, get the new Leica that is coming out soon. A LX5. The Panasonic version is already out.

  3. Oh, one more thing, people are selling them used online. Do a Google:
    "For Sale: D-Lux 3 or D-Lux 4"
